Rebuilding Manchester celebrates the regeneration, rebuilding and rebranding of Manchester city centre in the post-war years.
I setup Rebuilding Manchester originally as a website - way back in August 1996 - to chart the regeneration of Manchester city centre following the terrorist attack on 15 June 1996.
My book of the same name, which tells the story of the rebuilding - supported by almost 500 photographs - was published in 2010 and republished in 2019 (available on Amazon).
The book explains how the city centre was transformed from, in places, an industrial wasteland to what is arguably a model of modern day urban regeneration. A place where people want to invest, live, work, study, shop and, of course, relax.
Alongside the book are the popular Twitter and Instagram accounts (@rebuildingmcr and @rebuildingmanchester respectively).
This shop sells carefully designed products associated with key landmarks from Manchester’s recent past - places that hold great memories for many people.
All profits from each mug sale will be donated to support Coffee 4 Craig - a charity which provides vital support for Manchester’s homeless and people in crisis.
Thank you for visiting and for your support.
